Bed dating

Bed Courtship. Some Amish dating relationships start out with a different twist. In the Amish districts that sanction bed courtship, the boy asks the girl if he can take her home. If she consents, they drive to her home. They immediately go upstairs and get into her bed fully clothed, where they are expected to talk all night without touching. Find bed partners within minutes! The site has a strong customer support team who are there to help make your membership fun and safe. It's free to join, meet-up, view media and contact members. I grew up in the Delaware Amish community and bed courtship was not observed there. However, the way dating was done would not be something I would want my kids, especially my daughter to be part of. It was basically in the living room on the couch, parents in bed, lights out, no supervision or anything. Note: A good number of lesbian dating sites and apps do exist, but most face the same issues: They're either made to sexualize lesbians and aren't really for relationships at all, or it's way too ... 2020.10.01 09:15 missidkdoyou My [23F] mother [50F] constantly calls me selfish

Context: I’ve moved back home from uni since the global pandemic. I’ve always had a rocky relationship with my mother, we were never super close because she was a very strict parent. I respect her parenting skills because it made me the person I am today, however it did not allow for an emotional relationship with her.
The last few months she’s been constantly on my case about little house chores (which I do) that have to be done exactly when she says it. If I put a dish down to run to the bathroom prior to washing it she loses it. It’s gotten to the point that she has no shame yelling at me over dishes and vacuuming when I’m taking a meeting. She constantly calls me selfish and that she cannot believe I act like this. I normally stay in my room to avoid altercations because of the screaming matches. She demands I do what she says, exactly when she says it. It’s unreasonable, frankly impossible because I’m doing work most of the day.
She also discredits everything I do. If I get a paycheck, she chimes in “but are you even doing quality work?” Or if I go on a date and to the guys house she essentially slut shames me, with no idea of what even went on. Which is not her business regardless. She downplays my leadership and organization achievements by saying I had to do those things because I did poorly in school (I did fine).
Everything feels like a constant, draining battle. I used to fight back but I’m exhausted. I know I’m not a selfish person, I do anything for those I love and to ensure I’m helping out. However, I constantly get called selfish for doing my own work. And consistently told that I have never cared for her since I was a child because I never wanted to do mother-daughter things.
To be quite frank, I’m not comfortable with my mother. I cannot tell her the details of my life without her judgements or critiques. I don’t even like going to eat in fear of a dish in the sink setting her off.
I don’t know what to do. It makes me anxious about my other relationships. She always downplays my emotions and anxieties, as if I’m just being over dramatic. Time to time I get anxious about certain things in my life, to the point that I don’t get out of bed. I can’t share how I feel and am too scared to ask for a therapist.
I’m not sure how to mend this relationship.
TL;DR: mother is constantly bashing me for being selfish over chores. Emits negativity and judgement in every action of mine. I’m exhausted.

2020.10.01 09:02 cookbook54 Was I actually raped?

When I was 14 I got really drunk at a party to the point I was constantly throwing up, thrown into a shower while still throwing up and then put in bed while I was still... throwing up.
I don’t remember much. This guy I was talking to woke me up and I think I remember suggesting sex. This was my first time. After that, all I remember is crying during it, him asking if I was okay but him continuing even though I gave no response. He left and I remember checking my phone, it was 4am and my friend came in the room and I immediately started bawling my eyes out in their arms.
I texted him the next day and said I think you raped me, he said no you wanted it. My dad saw due to shared iClouds. My dad confronted me about it and I vehemently denied saying it was an inside joke. He believed me. I completely forgot about this until my dad brought it up the other day. All these years I had genuinely believed it was all in my head and that I’d never thought I’d gotten raped until years later when I learned it’s not normal nor consensual to have sex like that. I didn’t remember thinking I got raped after it happened.
All my friends at the time told me I needed to date him since it would be slutty if I didn’t (I lived in the south) so I tried so hard to pursue him since everyone was gossiping about me loosing my virginity to a guy I wasn’t even dating. We had sex multiple times after that but he would never date me. He claims because we had sex afterwards that it wasn’t rape the first time.
I’m 22 now and this still haunts me. I don’t know if I actually consented, but I do know I was crying during it. I don’t know if having sex with him after justifies it. I haven’t brought this up to any of my therapists out of sheer embarrassment and shame. I feel more comfortable talking to strangers about this before bringing it up to my therapist. Please let me know your thoughts.

2020.10.01 09:00 portlane Gardening Advice for October 2020

OSU's Gardening advice for October
If needed, improve soil drainage needs of lawns before rain begins.
To become an OSU Master Gardener volunteer, register with your local Extension office. For additional information, visit OSU Master Gardener.
Maintenance and Clean Up
Recycle disease-free plant material and kitchen vegetable and fruit scraps into compost. Don't compost diseased plants unless you are using the "hot compost" method (120 degrees to 150 degrees Farenheit).
Drain or blow out your irrigation system, insulate valve mechanisms, in preparation of winter.
Use newspaper or cardboard covered by mulch to discourage winter and spring annual weeds or remove a lawn area for conversion to garden beds. For conversion, work in the paper and mulch as organic matter once the lawn grass has died.
Clean and paint greenhouses and cold frames for plant storage and winter growth.
Harvest sunflower heads; use seed for birdseed or roast for personal use.
Dig and store potatoes; keep in darkness, moderate humidity, temperature about 40°F. Discard unused potatoes if they sprout. Don't use as seed potatoes for next year.
Harvest and immediately dry filberts and walnuts; dry at 95 degrees to 100 degrees Farenheit.
Ripen green tomatoes indoors. Check often and discard rotting fruit.
Harvest and store apples; keep at about 40°F, moderate humidity.
Place mulch over roots of roses, azaleas, rhododendrons and berries for winter protection.
Trim or stake bushy herbaceous perennials to prevent wind damage.
To suppress future pest problems, clean up annual flower beds by removing diseased plant materials, overwintering areas for insect pests; mulch with manure or garden compost to feed the soil and suppress weeds.
Cover asparagus and rhubarb beds with a mulch of manure or compost.
Clean, sharpen and oil tools and equipment before storing for winter.
Store garden supplies and fertilizers in a safe, dry place out of reach of children.
Prune out dead fruiting canes in raspberries.
Western Oregon: Harvest squash and pumpkins; keep in dry area at 55 degrees to 60 degrees Farenheit.
Western Oregon: Spade organic material and lime into garden soil, as indicated by soil test results (if necessary and the weather permits).
Central/Eastern Oregon: Prune evergreens.
Dig and divide rhubarb. (Should be done about every 4 years.)
Plant garlic for harvesting next summer.
Propagate chrysanthemums, fuchsias, and geraniums by stem cuttings.
Save seeds from the vegetable and flower garden. Dry, date, label, and store in a cool and dry location.
Plant ground covers and shrubs.
Dig and store geraniums, tuberous begonias, dahlias, and gladiolas.
Pot and store tulips and daffodils to force into early bloom, indoors, in December and January.
Pest Monitoring and Management
Remove and dispose of windfall apples that might be harboring apple maggot or codling moth larvae.
Rake and destroy diseased leaves (apple, cherry, rose, etc.), or hot compost diseased leaves.
Spray apple and stone fruit trees at leaf fall to prevent various fungal and bacterial diseases. For more information, see Managing Diseases and Insects in Home Orchards (PDF - EC 631).
If moles and gophers are a problem, consider traps.
Western Oregon: Control fall-germinating lawn weeds while they are small. Hand weeding and weeding tools are particularly effective at this stage.
Monitor landscape plants for problems. Don't treat unless a problem is identified.
Houseplants and Indoor Gardening
Early October: Reduce water, place in cool area (50-55 degrees Farenheit) and increase time in shade or darkness (12-14 hours) to force Christmas cactus to bloom in late December.
Place hanging pots of fuchsias where they won't freeze. Don't cut back until spring.
Western Oregon: Check/treat houseplants for disease and insects before bringing indoors.
